Keys and Locks

Our hearts

Fit together

Warped keys

In battered locks

The connections

Are bruised, blistered

Swollen, and fractured.

But still, we fit

Blood trickling down

From where our hearts meet

Pain and sanctuary

found in the warmth

Of your arms
